The Backstory

Our little bakeshop started 10 years ago in our tiny one bedroom apartment in Burnaby, BC. There, we would brew coffee in the wee hours of the morning and bake to order till the crack of dawn. 

My husband and I decided to make this big leap after working in the financial world, when we realized that Vancouver lacked coffee shops that also offered quality baked goods. I had a stressful job at the time and would always go home and de-stress by baking.

One day my husband suggested that I try doing this baking thing for a living. I thought he was CRAZY. No one would want to buy my pastries, I said.

But after some serious consideration, I decided to take the plunge!

We started catering for offices of people we knew within our network of friends and family. Before we knew it, we received an opportunity to open up our first brick and mortar on Granville Street in downtown Vancouver.

I still remember the very first customer that ever walked in to our shop, Florence and her husband Brian. They came in EVERY day for coffee, tea and a scone.

That’s when I realized, maybe my husband was right.

 
 

Fast Forward to Today…

We are incredibly humbled to get to serve the hundreds of cafe visitors and dozens of catering clients that choose us each and every day.

And of course, none of it would be possible without the hard work and joyful attitudes of the amazing people we have now and the hundreds who came before them.

God has truly blessed our business over the years and we couldn’t be more grateful for it all.
